John Shoemaker

With a distinguished military and civilian leadership background, I bring a lifetime of dedication, innovation, and service to the communities and industries I’ve been privileged to serve.

My journey began after college as a Lieutenant in South Vietnam. I served as 3rd Platoon Leader and HHC Company Commander for the 2nd Battalion, 1st Infantry, 196th Infantry Brigade of the Americal Division in Chu Lai, 1970. This experience shaped my approach to leadership, emphasizing resilience, adaptability, and the importance of serving a purpose beyond oneself.

After Vietnam, I dedicated over 50 years to advancing high technology, particularly with integrated hardware and software solutions. I became an early advocate of RFID technology, helping to pioneer asset-tracking solutions across various industries and pushing the boundaries of what technology can achieve for operational efficiency and data integrity.

As a technology “evangelist”, I’ve shared my expertise and insights, promoting the benefits of technological innovation to organizations worldwide.

I have a wonderful family with my wife; we married in 1968 and have two children and five grandchildren.

Beyond my career, I have been engaged in public service. Elected as a Town Commissioner in Highland Beach, Florida, I served a three-year term, contributing to the well-being of my community. I also volunteer in the condominium sector, currently serving as President of the Clarendon Condo Association and having been elected to the boards of two condominiums.
