War, Peace, and Politics 2025…the Death Count Grows at over 1,000 PER WEEK

Hear me out…I am focused on obtaining peace over war.

Why is it so easy to kill rather than talk?  Egos?  Power?  Money?

More like ignorance and politics.

I am shocked at the number of Americans who still believe that more death is acceptable.  Would their attitudes be different if their sons and daughters had to be shipped off to the Ukraine war front?

The war in Ukraine with Russia, by all accounts, is a meat grinder.  New weapons and technology are slaughtering young men on both sides.  It’s in the fourth year and at a stalemate.

To me, it is not only about the $180 Billion to $400 Billion (who is counting?) we have spent to supply Ukraine with war material to kill Russians.  Yes, it seems the corruption is outrageous and on a massive scale, with millions of dollars being siphoned off to fill the pockets of greedy people, including our own politicians.

But that is not the only issue.

As a former combat infantryman who has killed young men and lived in the valley of death, I see no reason to take a million or more young men’s lives unnecessarily and then continue it with more death and destruction on all sides.

The smell of death will stay with you forever.  Neocons and left-liberals have no sense of the devastation of war, let alone can they pull the trigger to kill someone.

Long after this war is over, like the one in Vietnam, new generations will determine who lives where and what new relationships will be created.  Can you imagine that back in 1967-1970, at the height of the Vietnam War, we would become great business partners in less than fifty years?

Remember, North Vietnam lost over one million soldiers in the “American War.”  South Vietnam lost about 250,000.  America lost over 58,000, plus hundreds of thousands of Agent Orange deaths for decades to come.  Combined civilian deaths on both sides were over a million more – men, women, and children.

Yet, we see again another war after Vietnam, Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Gaza, and Lebanon.

Technology and advanced weaponry have gotten to the point that both sides are highly efficient in causing horrible, torturous deaths on a mega scale and with increasing speed.

But do not mistake my perspective: I would volunteer again to return to a battlefront if called by our nation.  I have no fear of that.  But I do fear stupid decisions that cost lives needlessly for a war that does not threaten the U.S. or is in the national security interest.

Some Democrats bang the war drums; no matter the history, they say we have a bully for a President who was calling for a stop to the death and to get a peace agreement or at least a ceasefire agreement.  Democrats judge Trump for treating Zelenskyy poorly even after he reversed his intentions to sign a deal.  We also learn that the Democrats groomed Zelensky to resist Trump’s plans and walk away.

Democrats cry foul and feel embarrassed thinking Trump was guilty of extortion.

To be clear, the following remarks I accept as true:

·       Russia invaded Ukraine in a massive assault when they expected to capture Ukraine in a few days.

·       With the support of the American military, Ukraine fought back, and Russia’s attack was quickly stalled, and a tragic loss of life began.

·       Now in its fourth year of a war that has turned into a meat grinder, there is no clear road to victory unless the U.S. gets involved in a big way and somebody is willing to negotiate with Putin.

·       If NATO and/or the U.S. gets directly involved, Russia may feel it necessary to use tactical nuclear bombs/missiles, starting WW III.

·       Trump has been clear: he wants the war to end.  He wants the killing to stop.  He has said over and over that he wants peace.  He also knows he needs a strategy to convince Putin to stop the war, and Trump also wants the U.S. to be re-paid for the billions spent on a war that has no strategic threat to the U.S.

I believe that the world benefits from a sincere effort to end the war, and so does Trump.  I also think that America cannot continue to be the piggy bank for all wars.  The E.U. has deliberately minimized investments in their military for its own protection because they rely on the U.S. to protect them.  That attitude has to end.

By many accounts, the Susan Rice-Barrack Obama gang took other terrible actions to back-stab the President’s foreign policy and strategy.  Apparently, they strongly advised Zelenskyy to reject the deal and Trump’s attempt to secure a business venture to have Ukraine’s “rare-earths” pay for the U.S. support for their war with Russia.  At the same time, the E.U. supports Zelenskyy but knows they must have U.S. support.

The arrogance of the E.U. is breathtaking.

The Democrats have a horrendous track record.  Think Vietnam, Syria, Afghanistan, Gaza, Somalia, and now Ukraine.  Their motivation is to see Trump fail at the expense of the deaths of thousands of people on both sides of the war.  The Democrats simply don’t care at what cost is paid for them to prevent a political win for Trump.

So, to be sure, Zelenskyy will succumb to Trump and the deal.  He will want to avoid Trump announcing that the U.S. is out and will no longer supply $$ and armaments to fight an endless war that could spark WW III.

Trump is right on his intent for peace, right to stop the deaths, and right on common sense – all while putting America First in a war that must not involve the U.S. continuing to squander its wealth and resources.

Let’s pray for peace and President Trump.
