Blog #58 What if Kamala Wins?
What can you expect from Kamala Harris and Tim Walz if they win the election? Here is a list of the most likely actions that will be implemented immediately:
1. The Harris Administration will be an extension of the Biden term. Although she promotes her campaign as the agent of change. Harris admits she would not change anything from the Biden Administration term, including the decision regarding the withdrawal from Afghanistan. Biden reinforced the point that Kamala was involved in all major actions and decision making.
2. They will modify the OPEN Border strategy but there will be no real reduction in illegal aliens crossing the borders by land, sea, air. They need to continue to change the demographics of the U.S. and increase the number of Democrats to retain power.
3. Our taxes will be raised. Forget the notion that you won’t pay increased income taxes directly or indirectly: All businesses will pay higher taxes, and they will pass on the cost at higher prices.
4. Inflation will return, possibly in the 6-7% range. It is inevitable due to the increased flow of government money that funds such social programs such as welfare for immigrants, not counting free healthcare for everyone, the forgiveness of college loans, more grants for EVs, more aid to Ukraine and Israel, and so many other countries (see point #17). CPI (Consumer Price Index) increased for September 2025 and the trend is up.
5. Initiatives, whether they succeed or not, will take much time and attention from Congress to re-write the Constitution/alter the Federal Government to include:
a. Restrictions on free speech (First Amendment) (not likely, but many Democrats are taking action to restrict free speech and label it misinformation or disinformation, especially on Social Media platforms).
b. Restrictions on guns (Second Amendment) (likely more anti-gun bills but less likely: mandatory buybacks)
c. Abolish the Electoral College (not likely)
d. Eliminate the Filibuster (likely)
e. Stack the SCOTUS to raise the number to 15 Justices (not likely)
f. Eliminate any requirements for Voter ID (likely)
g. Pass Federal Legislation to allow abortion in all States at any time during pregnancy.
6. Higher taxes for Large Corporations and the wealthy (again, that will drive higher prices, lower investment capital, and slow growth). Increasing taxes on billionaires -- the top 1% pay 40% of Federal Taxes – will not solve the problem. With incomes over $170,000, the top 10% pay 75% of all Federal Income Taxes! To increase their taxes will only reduce capital for investment, especially for start-ups and small businesses. More, the idea of taxing unearned capital gains would cripple equity investment and drop Wall Street dramatically. Also, the FTC (Chairwoman Khan) is already moving to break up our successful corporations. The anti-business attitude will continue to grow fast with progressives defending Khan. Additionally, increased regulations by the bureaucratic state complicate this difficulty and will restrict growth.
7. Free healthcare. This will be hard to resolve without Democratic control of the House/Senate. The cost will be staggering and administering it will be very difficult. I'm not sure if private healthcare will be allowed, and if so, the cost will be very high. Medical personnel and caregivers will rapidly decline in numbers, and expedient access to healthcare will change dramatically for everyone.
8. Crime will continue to be a problem as criminals are considered victims of society. There will be more social prosecutors (sponsored in part by George Soros or his son).
9. Social chaos will continue as well since socialists need to create it to retain control while giving free stuff. This includes Woke, DEI, Race, Gender Identity, LGBTQ, and in support of other socialist ideologies. Getting free benefits will require following government rules (thereby restricting freedoms).
10. Educational performance will continue to decline with a legal battle exploding over public schools vs charger schools, Woke/DEI vs Merit.
11. The war on oil and gas will continue while more money is spent on climate change. Much of it will add to the National Debt which will increased dramatically. The $35 Trillion National Debt will go to nearly $50 Trillion in their 4-year term of office. However, there will be renewed interest in nuclear reactors.
12. The SPR (Strategic Oil Preserve) will not likely be refilled, leaving the US somewhat exposed in a true emergency. Most do not know that to keep the price of gas down at the pumps, Biden drained the SPR (some say for political purposes only).
13. It is likely that given the perception of both Kamala and Tim as ignorant or bungling power players and weak military leaders of a growing weakness of the DOD, war will continue to be a world problem with North Korea, Russia, China, Iran, and broken countries like Somalia, Yemen, and Sudan in the Middle East and Africa pushing the alarm bells.
14. Our military will lose military preparedness/force readiness due to Woke/DEI/CRT focus at the expense of war skills while having its budget reduced to pay for social programs.
15. Efforts to issue grants to first-time home buyers will increase the price of homes and continue the shortage of affordable housing.
16. Efforts at Price Controls, especially for groceries, will be extremely difficult to pass legislation and administer if passed. It will likely fail.
17. We will continue to spend exorbitant amounts of money in foreign aid. Biden/Harris just approved (Oct 2024) sending $147 Million to Lebanon while creating a funding crisis for FEMA while experiencing two disasters at home: Helene and Milton Hurricanes. For the months Jan – Sept 2024, here is what the U.S. has given:
a. Ukraine: $24.4 Billion
b. Israel: $11.3 Billion
c. Ethiopia: $1.95 Billion
d. Jordan: $1.6 Billion
e. Egypt: $1.4 Billion
f. Afghanistan and Somalia: $1.1 Billion…each!
g. Yemen: $1 Billion
h. Congo: $987 Million
i. Syria: $896 Million
18. The National Debt is careening out of control and now exceeds 100% of our GDP. This level of Federal Govt spending is simply unsustainable. Both political parties are addicted to spending, and at some point, we will run into a financial wall. Starting in 2025, over $1 Trillion/year will go just for interest on our debt.
19. Employment will continue to grow in Government at very high levels, exceeding all other employers except health & human services.
20. The War on Religion will get worse. Radical left progressives do not like religion and is the fundamental reason why antisemitism continues and also attacks on Christians. While Islam is relatively ignored, soon, they will also come under attack by Socialist Democrats.
The Harris/Walz Administration would continue the movement to a socialist-democratic state. There is no sensitivity to reducing spending. With more than half of America NOT paying income taxes, the burden will shift to those who do make a taxable income, but no matter how confiscatory it becomes, it will not solve the National Debt problem. Budget deficits and debt will continue with staggering increases until government spending is reduced.
